Gas masks (simple): If the disaster involves chemical leakage, such as chemical plant explosions leading to the spread of toxic gases, simple gas masks (such as half-mask gas masks with activated carbon filter layers) can help people filter toxic and harmful gases, such as chlorine, ammonia and other common industrial toxic gases, and provide them with a certain degree of breathing safety when evacuating dangerous areas.
Body protection
Cold-proof clothing/warm clothing: In disaster areas affected by snowstorms and severe cold weather, it is crucial to provide sufficient cold-proof clothing, warm gloves, hats, scarves and other supplies. These clothes are usually made of materials with good thermal insulation performance. For example, down jackets are filled with high-quality duck or goose down. They are highly fluffy and can effectively lock air, form an insulation layer, and keep the body warm.
Raincoats Rain gear: For areas affected by heavy rains, floods, and other floods, rain gear such as raincoats, rain boots, and umbrellas can keep the affected people dry during relocation or simple self-help activities, and avoid long-term contact with rainwater, which may cause colds, hypothermia, and other situations.
Protective clothing: At the disaster site where nuclear leaks or chemical pollution occur, it is very necessary to provide the masses with simple chemical and radiation protection clothing. Safety helmets: In the rescue and reconstruction work after disasters such as earthquakes and mudslides, providing safety helmets to the affected people and the rescue personnel can effectively prevent head injuries. Safety helmets are usually made of high-strength engineering plastics with cushioning pads inside to withstand the impact of falling objects of a certain weight.
Goggles: In disaster scenes such as fires, sandstorms or chemical leaks, goggles can protect the eyes from smoke, dust, chemical liquid splashes and strong light. The lenses of goggles are usually made of anti-fog and scratch-resistant materials and have good optical properties to ensure clear vision.
Hand protection
Protective gloves: Different types of protective gloves are suitable for different disaster scenes. When cleaning up ruins, wear-resistant and puncture-resistant gloves are required, such as gloves made of high-strength fibers and leather, which can prevent hands from being scratched by sharp objects (such as glass and steel bars). When contacting chemicals, chemical-resistant gloves should be provided, such as nitrile gloves, which have good tolerance to a variety of chemicals.
Foot protection
Protective shoes and boots: For people in disaster-stricken areas, waterproof, non-slip, and puncture-resistant protective shoes or boots are essential. For example, in the muddy environment after a flood or the ruins after an earthquake, rubber-soled boots with good anti-slip properties can prevent people from slipping and falling; at the same time, protective shoes with reinforced toes and soles can resist punctures from sharp objects and protect the safety of the feet.
